GAS FIRE SERVICING AND REPAIR
Your gas fire can add a homely focal point to a room so when it stops working you need a gas engineer to help repair it quickly, especially if it is a main source of heat. Our heating engineers are highly experienced and familiar with a vast range of gas fires.
Of course, it is better to prevent a breakdown which is why you should have your fire serviced annually even if it is hardly used. A poorly maintained gas fire can be lethal and having a service can prevent any possible dangers arising.
We can add you to our annual reminder service and contact you automatically when it is due for a service.
SIGNS OF AN UNSAFE GAS FIRE
Sooting up: if you see black soot or scorching appearing on the glass door or around the edges of the fire or chimney breast, get it checked out.
Smell of gas: any smell of gas should be investigated immediately by a Gas Safe Registered Engineer.
Pilot light: is it a floppy yellow flame rather than a blue one.
Physical symptoms: if you start having headaches, nausea or dizziness, this could indicate carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
LANDLORD CERTIFICATION SERVICES
A Landlord's Gas Safety Certificate, (CP12) relating to gas or a (CD/12) relating to oil, is a legal requirement. This covers all gas or oil appliances at the property to ensure that they are safe and this must be carried out annually.
Carbon Monoxide Detectors must be fitted in every room that has either a boiler, fire or flue and Smoke and Heat Alarms must be fitted in order to comply with the latest regulations.
We are trusted by both letting agents and private landlords and offer landlord safety checks on properties to ensure you meet your legal requirements.
For private landlords, our annual reminder service ensures you keep track of when your certificates are due for renewal. This will be by email one month before the renewal is due. We are happy to deal with the letting agent or tenant direct.
All certificates are completed electronically and emailed direct to you or your agent.
We can also collect keys from the letting agents, or yourself if local, should the tenant be unavailable.
SYSTEM CLEANSE - POWER FLUSH
Over time sludge can build up in your heating system, no matter what fuel type is being used. This build up can reduce the efficiency of your system and will also reduce the lifespan of the boiler and radiators. Special equipment is used to power flush your system and remove the waste. After carrying out the flush, we would recommend fitting a Magnaclean Magnetic Filter to prevent this build up in the future.
MAGNACLEAN MAGNETIC FILTER
These filters have been designed and engineered to actively trap virtually all circulating debris before reaching your heating system. It gives a 7% annual saving on heating bills (based on independent research for a 3-bed home) and is an ongoing protection for boilers and radiators.
